Noisy Rear Mavic Ksyrium Hub

On occasions, a screaching noise can be heard in the rear hub. The chain immediately slackens, indicating the ratchet mechanism is probably sticking. Most of the time it is okay, but I can't source a manual or any details for determining the problem. The wheels are less than 5000 km old. Doug Reynolds
